Individual scholarships
UC Scout is proud to offer $349 scholarships towards completing an On Demand course. All eligible students in Califonia are encouraged to apply!
Scholarships are limited to one course semester per student per term. Selected students are required to pay a $50 technology fee per semester. Students who pass the first semester of a full year course with 70% or higher will automatically receive a $349 scholarship for the second semester.
To be considered for a scholarship, a student must:
- Attend a school in California
- In grades 9-12
- Have a minimum 2.5 GPA
Additionally, students must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Student, parents or anyone in the household is a recipient of or eligible for CalFresh/SNAP or Medi-Cal/Medicaid

The Spring 2024 application window opens on 11/22/2024 and will close on 1/7/2025. Students will be notified once the application has been reviewed, a process that can take up to one week.
The student’s parent or guardian and academic counselor will be required to provide a digital signature through an e-form for the application to be considered completed and submitted. We encourage students to communicate with their school’s academic counselor prior to beginning the application to ensure they have support in applying.
Please understand that submitting an application does not guarantee a scholarship will be awarded. UC Scout has no obligation to offer a scholarship, regardless of individual circumstance or merit. We do not provide retroactive scholarships for past or active enrollments in an On Demand course.
If you’re awarded a scholarship, you must abide by rules intended to ensure success in the course. Failure to abide by these rules may result in removal from the course and scholarship program without a refund.
- Attend a weekly live session. If the live session is on a day/time the student is not available, the student must email the teacher to report on their weekly progress.
- Submit at least one graded assignment per week.
- Maintain and complete the course with a 70% or higher grade.
