How to Request

You can request a Plus course at any time of day and at any point in the year. Once your requested course is established in our Canvas LMS, you will set the start and end date for your course and customize its structure and contents. Note that with Plus, your school provides the teacher (you!) and the credit.

Find your course

Browse the UC Scout course catalog and select the course curriculum you want to teach. Any teacher or school can request a Plus course.

Submit your request

Fill out the form linked on the course page to request your unique, customizable Plus course and complete the teacher verification process.

Set up your course

Once your request is approved (3-5 days), you will receive instructions on next steps via email. Robust support and training options are available!

Getting verified

We verify teaching credentials for any teacher (public, private, or homeschool) who requests a Plus course before completing the setup process. To file your status, submit the Plus Course Request Form, which will ask you to upload proof of your current teaching credential number or private homeschool affidavit.

Enrolling your students

If you want to use the virtual classroom with your class, your students can enroll directly in your Plus course using a unique invitation code shared via email after your course has been created and you’ve completed desired modifications to the curriculum.

This code will link your students to your course inside the virtual classroom environment (Canvas LMS).

Customizing your course

  1. Once you’ve requested your Plus course, sign up for an upcoming Plus Teacher Training Webinar to explore all the features of your course and our online classroom, Canvas.
  2. Review the Classroom Guide for Plus Teachers to support your teaching.
  3. Schedule an appointment with our Academic Support Expert for individualized guidance.

Free for CA public school teachers
